Personal and Intimate Care - How can people who do not use words to communicate make choices and be in control of the care they receive? How can a routine protect people with profound disabilities from potential abusers?

If you provide personal and intimate care to people, it is essential that you complete this module so you can answer these questions.

This month we are excited to be able to offer the Professional Development ‘Personal and Intimate Care’. This is certainly a very relevant topic for many people we support!

Employees will be required to complete the course on their own time and will have 30 days to complete it after it has been started. It will take approximately 100 minutes to complete. After you have completed the course you will receive a certificate, a summary of your learning, your notes, and the paperwork for you to complete a reflective action plan.

Once you have signed up, you will be sent information about the course, and the logistical information to take it. If computer access poses a barrier for an interested employee to take the online course, we have established a number of options to address this. Employees have the option to use the computer in the computer room at the office at 67 King St. We have also confirmed with both the Picton and Belleville Libraries that employees would be welcome to use their computers to complete an online learning course.
