What a great summer!
The forming of the CLPE Dragonboat team was a great experience for Lesley and I. Not only for us but for all of those who initially came out in May and continued until September.
Dragonboating is a great sport. It's something that Lesley and I could do together and have lots of fun doing it. Lesley said she liked the paddling and getting in and out of the boat as she perfected doing that. It's a great way to get exerise but we also learned that we need to focus and work as a team to get the boat going. You had to know who your partner was in case the boat tipped over, but that never happened; as the first thing we learned was "HIPS TO THE GUNNEL"!!
Over the course of the summer there was lots of laughs and lots of getting wet. We were certainly out of sync at the beginning but by the end of the summer we were ready for the Wellington Dragonboat Races. And we are: "CLPE Friends and Family; CLPE Friends and Family".
A fantastic 2011 dragonboat season, with a fantastic team. LOOKING FORWARD TO 2012!
