Rights Training and Resources
    
Knowing your rights and freedoms is important to all citizens. Community Living Prince Edward advocates with people who have an intellectual disability and their families to ensure they have access to the same rights and freedoms of others. A number of training opportunities and resources are available such as:
 
Rights Training:  Community Living Prince Edward offers Rights Training. This six week course is specifically designed for people we support. Materials are in plain language and facilitators use a variety of learning tools such as pictures, words, audio, and visual resources. During the course participants will:  
          
  • Learn about the things that every Canadian can do - The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom
  • How to exercise your rights and what responsiblities come with these rights
  • Learn about rights restrictions and about CLPE's Rights Committee
  • Learn how to complain and use to Complaint Line and the Complaint Box
