Save Council is a time for the members of the group to get together to talk about things that are important to them and talk about what kind of supports they need and want. This is an opportunity to learn new skills and information such as voting, first aid, planning vacations and understanding rights and responsibilities.

SAVE Council meets the third Monday of the month.

A number of SAVE members are on different committees with Community Living Prince Edward such as the Quality Enhancement Committee, the Board of Directors, the Rights Committee and the Marketing Committee.

Self Advocates:

The Self Advocates group organizes the SAVE Council meetings; produces the LINK Newsletter; assits with interviewing new staff; plans bingo and movie nights; translates CLPE paperwork to plain language; does presentations for members of the community such as schools and service clubs; conducts training and education for staff and people receiving support; and attends conferences.

The Link Newsletter:

The Link Newsletter is a quarterly publication that is created, produced and delivered by members of the Self Advocates. The purpose of the Link Newsletter is to tell members of the community what is going on with members of SAVE Council and to provide educational awareness of what we do.
