Angie Friel, Prince Edward Collegiate Institute

Vice Principal Angie Friel with Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) advises that PECI has a long-standing partnership with Community Living Prince Edward.

The central team at the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board works with Community Living Prince Edward to support some PECI students through a referral process.

“The transition from high school into the real world is an important example of our partnership with Community Living Prince Edward. We’re fortunate to be able to work with Jason Sweet and Ashley Card quite frequently here at PECI.”

Community Living Prince Edward team members participate in meetings with family members and students. “Our work with Community Living Prince Edward is well known within the local school board community. It’s an incredibly strong partnership that ensures that students and their families are supported by professionals within the County.”

Fostering long-term relationships with people is key. Angie notes, “It’s so very helpful to have a Community Living team member present in meetings with parents who are learning about options available to students. From course choices to general questions, to additional support and goal setting, the support Community Living provides to students is invaluable.”

Collaborating with Prince Edward Collegiate Institute is just one of the ways Community Living Prince Edward team members are helping people achieve their goals here in the County.
