Try County Transit for free October 5-9

Picton, ON - Residents of Prince Edward County can ride the bus for free from Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 9.

“We have seen great uptake since County Transit launched in August, and we want even more residents to see how easy and convenient it is to take the bus,” says Todd Davis, Director, Community Services, Programs and Initiatives.

The fixed route and schedule through Picton, Bloomfield, and Belleville can be found at CountyTransit.ca. Pickup and drop-off at Belleville transit terminal allow for convenient transfers to all major routes in Belleville, including Loyalist College, Quinte Mall, Belleville General Hospital, the Via Rail station, and more.

In addition, on-demand service is available in Wellington, Carrying Place, Rossmore, Consecon, and Rednersville. Call Quinte Access at 1.855.283.9640 to get where you want to go.

“During ‘ride free week,’ we will have an ambassador available on the bus to help residents navigate their trip,” says Shelly Ackers, Executive Director of Quinte Access, which is the service provider for County Transit. “The ambassadors can provide information or answer any questions about the service. They can assist with route schedules or stop locations, as well as help with transfers in Belleville.”

In response to COVID-19, Quinte Transit has implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitizing schedule. All high touch points are cleaned regularly during shifts and between passenger trips, where possible, and all buses are sanitized every 24 hours. Riders are required to wear a mask or face covering.

Visit County Transit for more information or call Quinte Access at 1.855.283.9640 if you have any questions.
