From April 15 to 22 (Earth Day) everyone who comments on Community Living Prince Edward Earth Day posts will be automatically entered into a draw for an environmentally-friendly swag bag.

The goal is to engage as many community members as possible in thinking about our earth and what they can do to protect and preserve it. In addition, every Facebook like, comment and share will help ensure that our Earth Day posts are noticed throughout Prince Edward County. 

Here's a preview of the pledge that County Advocates have signed for Earth Day 2024:

• Taking care of the earth by picking up litter when I see it
• Reducing, reusing and recycling
• Helping to care for growing things like trees and flowers
• Encouraging my family members, friends and co-workers to learn about ways to get involved and taking active care of our community!

And for even more inspiration, check out the County Advocates' Earth Day 2023 tips: 

• Instead of using more bag tags, use the green bin and compost
• Use reusable water bottles
• Don’t do laundry every day and don’t use small loads
• Use a cleaning cloth instead of paper towels
• Turn off lights when not in the room
• No single use plastics
• Host a Trash Bash Day
• In the winter, turn down your heat
• In the summer, don’t use your air conditioner, or don’t have it set too cold
