Right now, we’re hiring Summer Student Direct Support Professionals for eight-week (30 hours/week) summer positions in Picton, Ontario. Please note: the recruitment of these positions is dependent on confirmation of summer student grant funding.

Your Responsibilities:
- Building community awareness and promoting the value of inclusive employment, volunteerism as well as recreational activities
- Identifying potential opportunities for inclusion and create a work plan to bring these opportunities to life
- Assisting people in meeting their individual learning objectives, preparing for jobs and volunteering as well as developing new skills
- Assisting with creating a variety of augmentative communication tools and strategies for people with an intellectual disability
- Liaising with community partners to help ensure successful placements and identify any follow-up activities
- Coordinating workshops as well as professional growth and development activities focussed on work and employment related matters
- Assisting people, we serve to navigate the local transit system and to develop enhanced independent travel skills.

About this Role
As a Supervisor, Scheduling and Call-In, you’ll be responsible for creating and distributing bi-weekly digital schedules for approximately 160 employees, in keeping with set timelines. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources you will assist with backfilling shifts created by employee absences. You will also have administrative duties and responsibilities for supporting our scheduling and call-in team. This is a 12-hour rotational role from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm and includes weekdays as well as weekends.
About You
You are a people person. You have experience supervising team members and are adept at efficiently juggling multiple priorities. Ideally, you are familiar with the social services and have experience working within a scheduling environment. Experience understanding the scheduling needs of group living environments would be considered an asset. Your excellent technical, organizational and time management skills, along with your dynamic interpersonal and communication skills, will complement our current team of dedicated professionals.

As a Full Time Youth Support Worker, you’ll support youth and young adults who live with an intellectual disability to make successful transitions from school to post-secondary life. In this empowering position, your work will support young people to succeed in employment, volunteering, education, leisure, social, skill development as well as transitions to adult services and greater independence.
About You
You are a successful collaborator who has at least two (2) years of experience working with youth who live with an intellectual disability and their families, along with two (2) years of planning and service delivery experience. - Creating and implementing special interest and educational sessions curriculum.
- Facilitating Ambassador for Inclusion Training with student leaders, school personnel and community partners.
- Connecting with businesses and community partners to facilitate inclusive employment, volunteerism as well as social roles for youth and young adults inclusive of providing guidance and coaching supports.
- Coordinating with your supervisor to develop and implement employment services and training opportunities such as Students at Work and Co-op with a Purpose.
- Assisting youth with the transition to post-secondary education including applying for bursaries.
- Fostering independence and promoting the development of independent living skills and facilitating a variety of Workshop Series.
- Facilitating and actively supporting people to connect to services and community resources based on personal preference and needs.
- Assisting youth and their families to access funding, completing applications and respite with a purpose.
- Contributing to building community awareness about the needs of people with disabilities and/or Community Living Prince Edward by giving presentations, attending resource fairs, forums and creating displays, etc.

This position is an integral part of a team that’s dedicated to supporting people with an intellectual disability who have strong communications skills with American Sign Language. In this role, you’ll assist people to develop independent living skills and access community resources. During each shift, you will enhance the quality of life for people we support by fostering their community connections, personal relationships and personal goal attainments.
About You
Well-known as a successful collaborator, you are a graduate of a relevant Human Services degree or diploma program. You can demonstrate your ability to use a variety of communication modes, including experience with American Sign Language. We will partner with the successful incumbents to build on the effective communication skills they currently have to become more efficient in American Sign Language.
As well, you have experience writing plans of support and supporting people with developing their individual plans of support. Using a holistic approach, you are experienced in supporting people to manage their overall and specific health support needs.
Compensation
- Entry $29.99/hour

Hours
- 80 hours over two (2) weeks
- This position requires the incumbent to primarily work eight (8) hours shifts, that will be scheduled both on weekends and weekdays.
- Days of work will vary based on service needs.

About You
You are a successful collaborator who is a graduate of a relevant Human Services degree or diploma program.
In this role, you’ll ensure the home is secure and people are safe when you arrive and then sleep for the remainder of the night. You will be wakened as necessary if there is a building, or personal emergency or concern.
Compensation:
> Awake hours are 10:30 pm to 11:00 pm; sleep hours are 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.
> Entry $29.99/hour – paid for the awake shift portion of the shift
> Lump sum of $140.00 – for the sleep shift hours
Your Responsibilities:
- To arrive at work at 10:30 pm and ensure that everyone is safe and settled for the evening, or you are aware of their evening plans.
- To be available to be wakened in the event that a person living in their home needs your assistance between 11:00 pm and 07:00 am and to respond to their requests as required.
- To assist people living in their home who ask for guidance getting ready for their day.
- To assist your teammate arriving in the morning with necessary information sharing.
