Victoria Robinson, Community Living Prince Edward
Victoria Robinson of Community Living Prince Edward’s Direct Support Professional team is proud to be a part of the organization for more than 11 years. Starting out as a relief worker, Victoria has worked in community homes, Supported Independent Living, as well as Heart of the County and Splash Works.
Victoria shares, “Growing up, I always knew I wanted to help people. I was always the friend that people turned to when they needed something or a supportive ear to listen to. That’s what led me to choose social services as my field of work.”
As part of her college degree, Victoria completed a volunteer placement at Community Living Prince Edward. This experience would change her life and inspire her to apply for a position at the organization upon graduation.
Victoria notes, “It was important to me to choose a workplace that was close to home, that had room for growth and development as well as support my family. I worked hard as a relief employee to gain extra knowledge and experiences that would help me gain a full-time position which I secured five years ago. From my role as a part-time relief staff member, I was able to transition to a full-time position in Community Supports and, from there, to a Coordinator position at a community home.”
As part of the Community Living Prince Edward team, Victoria enjoys making a meaningful difference in the lives of people who live with intellectual disabilities. She shares, “I truly enjoy working with the people I serve and being a part of the team. Not a day goes by that I don't smile or laugh at work, and that keeps me going. Our benefits package is one of the best I have seen, we have an RRSP program, and the starting rate and permanent wage enhancement is a huge benefit.”
Each and every day, Community Living Prince Edward team members like Victoria Robinson are helping people achieve their goals here in the County.
