Months of prep. Days of virtual and in-person evaluation. Dozens of stakeholders surveyed. All of which culminated in two prestigious awards being presented to Community Living Prince Edward (CLPE) team members and the people they support on January 10 at the Elks Lodge in Picton.

Mayor Steve Ferguson was among the well-wishers on hand to congratulate Hilary Tugwood, board president, Linda Conley, vice chair and Susan Treverton, executive director and CLPE teams for the organization’s third consecutive 4-year FOCUS accreditation. And for achieving its first-ever Seal of Sustainability award for organizations accredited 3+ times for demonstrated commitment to ongoing quality assurance.

Mayor Ferguson shared, “These awards attest to the fact that Community Living Prince Edward is meeting its goals and objectives to deliver innovative and quality services throughout the County – and for this I thank you all on behalf of council.” Adam Bramburger, constituency assistant for Todd Smith, MPP – Bay of Quinte warmly congratulated CLPE on behalf of MPP Smith.

Unable to attend in person, Chris Beesley, chief executive officer, Community Living Ontario provided congratulations that were presented by Kimberly Doyle, supervisor, CLPE. “This milestone speaks to Community Living Prince Edward, and its commitment at every level of the organization, to the people and families you serve. It speaks to an individualized approach to support each person in a way that prioritizes their interests, their hopes, and their dreams. We at Community Living Ontario are proud to have Community Living Prince Edward as a member association whose leadership through values, continues to be exemplary.”

Susan Treverton, executive director, Community Living Prince Edward thanked people and families, outstanding employee teams, numerous valued community partners and board directors for working together. She stated, “I am so very honoured to be part of such an outstanding organization that for the past almost 60 years has held true to its mission of people we serve realizing the full participation, inclusion and citizenship in the life of our Prince Edward County community.”
