Inclusion. Every day, it’s what inspires Community Living Prince Edward to support people with intellectual disabilities and it’s what inspired hundreds of County residents to get involved throughout the month of May.
Working with partners, businesses, supporters and volunteers, the organization encouraged people to learn more about the province-wide community living movement which reflects aspirations of people with intellectual disabilities to be included in the fabric of community life.
“Here in Prince Edward County, we hosted multiple activities - including a free screening of the movie ‘Champions’ during Community Living Month,” shared Susan Treverton, Executive Director, Community Living Prince Edward. “In a very visible showing of support, it was thrilling to see so many individuals and businesses taking part in Blue & Green Day on May 26.”
To commemorate the day, Tim Hortons Picton baked special blue and green sprinkle donuts for everyone to enjoy. Community Living Prince Edward team members distributed free donuts throughout the County and took lots of photos of people who were inspired to wear blue and green.
Treverton notes Community Living Prince Edward thanks everybody for taking part throughout the month and especially on Blue & Green Day 2023. Click here to see the photo gallery of some of the many businesses and organizations that got involved.
