Sabrina Hudson, The HUB Child & Family Centre
Sabrina Hudson with The HUB Child & Family Centre advises that building relationships and helping families by delivering many programs for children and families is a shared focus with the Community Living Prince Edward team.
Sabrina notes, “The HUB is focused on growing healthy families in Prince Edward County. With two licensed childcare centers - one at Massassaga-Rednersville School and another at 10 McFarland Court in Picton - the organization has served the County since 1989. The Hub operates two licensed Preschool programs at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, before and after school programs in five local schools, March Break, PA Day, and Summer Camps.”
Community Living team members are often on-site at 10 McFarland Court to support participants in The HUB’s parent and child program. Sabrina shares, “Child-led play is embraced, and creativity is displayed in so many different ways in our EarlyON program. Over the years, our backyard has hosted many different guests, including a Dino invasion in our Sandbox, a Touch-a-Truck event where everyone is big enough to get behind the wheel and much more!”
Sabrina notes, “Within the walls of all of these programs, Community Living Resource Consultants visit to build relationships and connections that help families and educators move through questions or concerns with their child’s development. They spend time with each group of children and offer each child the opportunity to show a newly learned skill or invite them into play. They provide ideas and materials to help make transitions easier and added resources or tools to help each child feel a sense of belonging.”
Making strong connections with The HUB Child & Family Centre is an essential way in which Community Living Prince Edward team is helping children achieve new possibilities in the County.
